Sax
putting the Rubber back into Soul!
Safe Sax are predominantly a 5- piece comprising a mix of Bass/ Double Bass,
Drums, Congas, Percussion, Acoustic guitar, Electric guitar, Saxophone, keys
and two great vocalists. Obviously as the musicians work so hard and double
on different instruments this makes the band extremely versatile in sound and
material. Their large repertoire goes from swinging/Dinner Jazz through Soul/Motown,
Rock and Roll to 60s - 90s pop, funk and rock music. This also makes the band
a very cost effective and adaptable unit. They can strip down to a very small
ensemble: Congas, Bass, Acoustic Guitar, Vocals, and Saxophone - great for smaller
parties and restaurants; or can swell to a full rocking, funking ensemble (
with extra Keyboards / Horn player) great for festivals and larger Clubs/ Venues
like the Chicago Rock Cafe and the Covent Garden Roadhouse.
The Band have very successfully performed at Hundreds of events and private parties over the past five years. They have also worked extensively for the Debenhams Group - opening four new stores and one new Nightclub; from World Duty Free, and Ives St Lauraunt - promoting their new Live Jazz Perfume and many other corporations. They play regularly at Clubs and bars all over London, and they have traveled extensively, including the Cork Jazz festival and residencies in France and Edinburgh. They have also worked on a number of occasions for the Free Mason organisation, for the Youth Theatre and for Amnesty International, plus many other similar organisations.
All members of the band are extremely experienced and skilled, borne out by the fact that individually and as a unit they have played with an impressive array of artists including George Benson, Geno Washington, Robert Plant, Melanie Blatt (All Saints), UB40, Rolf Harris, Dr and The Medics, Incantation, The Stereo M C¹s, Paul Carrick, Nick Heywood, Atlantic Soul Machine, Fats Domino, Desmond Dekker, Black Box Recorder and Johnny Haliday.
In five years of performing together Safe Sax have never failed to fulfil an engagement. They have always been on time, smart and approachable. They have always been paid in full. And they have never received a single complaint.
