The Tarantinos
Like no other director around Quentin Tarantino manages to combine the zeitgeist of the age with classic 70s and 80s soundbites: think Stuck In The Middle With You in Reservoir Dogs, Miserlou in Pulp Fiction, Across 110th Street in Jackie Brown…
…and The Tarantinos are the live embodiment of those films!
The Tarantinos are a London seven-piece who take their obsession with all things Quentin a little more seriously than most. Their live act consists of a fully costumed musical review celebrating Tarantino’s films, combining faithfully reproduced numbers from the films with movie stills, dance choreography, movie dialogue and re-enactments of classic scenes from the films…and that includes LIVE gunfire!
The Tarantinos have appeared on M.T.V when they sold out their revue at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, During 1998 they were seen at two major festivals: T’ In The Park in Scotland, and headlining the Fete de la Musique’ in Nice, France.
After
successful tours of Ireland and Russia completed The Tarantinos were asked to
appear at the Cork Jazz Festival. They also appeared on Bravo’s ‘lad’
magazine show, The Basement, and played at the
Jackie Brown premier in Holland
Already
this year The Tarantinos have been touring sell out shows throughout Switzerland
with a return tour scheduled for June/July as well as appearing at the St Gallen
Festival and the Montreaux Jazz Festival in 1999. This year will see a third
tour for Southern Comfort across England, Wales and Scotland, numerous shows
lined up for Madrid, and the release of their CD recorded live @ M.T.V.
